The Scottish Education System

The Scottish school education system is broad based and prepares students for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Higher examinations.

This national qualification is used for entrance to university degree programmes. The Scottish system of education corresponds closely to the education pattern of many other countries, thus enabling a smooth transition to the Scottish system for international students.

ifps advise students on all applications to universities via UCAS. Applying for an undergraduate place is a complex process with which we provide assistance. Decisions on entry to degree courses are taken by University Admissions Officers and depend on final examination results.
